The public in general is at a loss when it comes to hiring a DJ or Entertainer for your event from weddings, graduation parties, birthday parties, etc. Whether this is your first time or you've experienced this process before, we will attempt to help educate you in a very easy logical process. The first thing you need to do is decide what your expectations are of your planned event. The date, times, location and your budget will be factors that you need to have ready when you make your first contact with a DJ Company.

To give you an idea of what a DJ's agenda looks like, we'll attempt to give you a brief outline of a 4-hour wedding reception. The same will apply for most other events as well.

· The DJ will usually arrive to set up for your event 60-90 minutes before the actual start time. When you hire a DJ for a 4-hour event and his charge is for 4 hours, he's usually working your event for 5 to 6 hours depending on their equipment for set up and tear down.

· They will meet with your caterer and photographer/videographer to go over time frames so your event runs smoothly.

· Your DJ will introduce your bridal party, make other required announcements, use interactive games and suggestions for crowd motivation, coordinate and perform your special dances and other wedding formalities. Additionally, they may use props and special lighting effects to create a festive atmosphere as well as read the crowd and take requests. While all this is going on, he'll also be playing your music! One other benefit of hiring a DJ in general is that we do not take breaks.

No matter how great your quote might be, nothing can replace an experienced professional DJ. Don't risk the failure of your event just to save a few dollars.

An involved businessperson shows a willingness to learn, network and share ideas. Belonging to a professional trade group reflects a caring attitude. Event Performance is a proud member of the ABC, ISES & ACVB.

3. How many years of experience do you have?
Experience brings knowledge of common problems and situations. Be sure your DJ has experience with your type of event. Event Performance designates the appropriate personality to match your specific needs.

4. May we call your references?
References are a major part of the entertainment business. It is a good idea to get a few client and business references. Event Performance is happy to give you recent names of satisfied customers who have given us permission to release their numbers.

5. How will you be dressed?
Proper attire reflects a positive image to your guests. Event Performance Disc Jockeys dress in formal wear unless you request otherwise.

6. How early will you be to our site to set up?
An average of sixty minutes should be allowed for set up and sound check. (there is no additional charge for this). Our DJ's prefer to arrive early so music can begin as soon as the first guest enters your party.

7. Will you allow requests?
Requests should be welcome. If a song seems inappropriate, a good DJ will explain the reason and ask for an alternative selection. Our Disc Jockeys have a reputation for filling as many requests as possible including your favorite selections.

8. Are there any hidden fees or costs?
Never! All costs, and fees are discussed with you and are included in the contract. Applicable taxes are already included in the price of our standard packages.
